Do I need Pro?
No. Trouble codes and live sensors are free in the app, with no time limit. Obie, the AI mechanic, is Pro: $9.99 a month or $59.99 a year, through the App Store.
Can I use the app with another scanner?
Yes. ScanMyCar also works with other Bluetooth OBD-II scanners. Ours is the one we test the app with, and we support it ourselves.
When will it ship?
We expect to ship in October 2026. If that changes, we email you with the new date, and you can cancel for a full refund.
Can I cancel?
Yes, any time before it ships. Email support@scanmycar.app from the address you ordered with. We refund the full price to your card. The refund takes 5 to 10 business days to show.
Which cars does it work with?
Gas cars and light trucks sold in the US from 1996 on, with a standard OBD-II port under the dash. It does not work with electric vehicles, hybrids while the engine is off, 24 V diesel trucks, or vehicles without OBD-II.
Can I leave it plugged in?
It takes a little power from the car's battery while it is plugged in. If the car will sit for more than a few days, unplug it.
Where do you ship?
We ship to addresses in the United States, and shipping is free.
What if it does not work with my car?
Tell us within 30 days of delivery and send it back. We refund the full price.
